OUR PROJECTS

Present Projects

Presently the society is working at Prem Nagar Colony which is situated in the North-West periphery of Delhi bordering Haryana. This colony is adjacent to Nangloi which is located on the Rohtak Road.

As the case in every unauthorized colony in Delhi the inhabitants of Prem Nagar Colony, in West Delhi, are also migrants from different states of India. They have been driven to the capital for the means of their livelihood. They are compelled to leave their native place due to poverty, lack of opportunities, communal and caste problems, lack of basic amenities in the villages and many other similar problems.

Majority of the people living in this colony are illiterates and unskilled and unorganized labor. They are oppressed and exploited by the affluent class and their employers. Even the authorities do not give adequate attention towards their basic needs. They and their children are deprived of all the basic rights, which are guaranteed in the constitution. The politicians use these people as their vote banks and use them effectively to materialize their whims and fancies.

The children from this colony do not have proper education facilities. The nearby government school is at a distance of 4 K.M. from the area. That is at a pathetic state due to the bad quality of education and the negligence of the authorities. These schools, instead of grooming the human resource of the country for tomorrow, end up just as a transit camp for the children from the weaker sections, and ultimately make them to become good for nothing even after attending several years at these schools. Parents of many grown up girl children stopped their children to attend schools because the road was not safe for them to travel to the school. Absence of a day care centre / crèche in the area prohibits an additional income to the family through engaging both of the parents on some kind of work.

TAMILNADU PROJECT

According to the plan of extending our work and services for the poor and the needy of South India, a new project was initiated in Tamilnadu. There are a lot of slums and colonies still requiring helps. We conducted many a meeting there, and found people of great poverty and homelessness.

All the plans of our project were worked out there, accordingly, vocational training programme, SHG programme, educational programme, etc, were successfully carried out. Following are the illustrations from OCT's Tamilnadu Project conducted at Thirunelveli.

UP PROJECT, 2009

We initiated our social and charitable works in Uttar Pradesh. Mainly, we conduct our social and charitable works in the District of Azamgarh, a place where extremely poor people reside in its villages.

The villagers are mostly Harijan People. They are in very misery in every sense. Modern means of technology or communication are very scarce, and so, facilities like electricity, sanitary systems, etc. are also scarce. Even in cooking, they find very difficulty for they are unable to find even log-woods for their fire.

Most of them are uneducated, and are poverty-stricken. A lot of ill-affected people can be seen everywhere. Lack of nourishing food items and very bad sanitary situations are making them live like this. When we say poverty-stricken, it is in its extreme condition to most of the people.

Here, the poverty and ill-health mostly affect the girls. Most of them do not go to school. The nearest schools are a long way off from their villages. These areas need proper awareness of education, health and money management. Our project help them make raise their own money through SHG programme, and we provide medical camps and schools for their improvement. We are also in the hope of starting different types of training centers like Sewing Centers for these poor people.

We have already worked with more than ten villages, and it made many progresses. We are carrying on all these activities with the little means we have, and we get from people who are being well-wishers of all. Our courage is that God Almighty is always with us in our work of saving the poor and serving for the poor.

Other sections of the society, other than Harijans, are also in the very necessity of help. We plan to work among them very soon.
